Thank you Nicole.

What you said about being afraid is at the heart of many of the problems that we,us, Christians face today. We are afraid of what we might look like, sound like, act like to others. We let the opinion of others come between ourselves and G-d. I find comfort in Isaiah 41:9-13, knowing that G-d will protect me, give me strength, and lift me up. For "G-d has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Thank you for being a light that shines for Jesus.

G-d Bless.

Micah, thank you for your words. It is a powerful thing to allow Jesus into our hearts. I struggled with being single for a while, and really strive to understand that G-d has a special calling for singles within the church, and that G-d's plan is on a different timetable than mine. The thing that really changes my life was when I started thinking of myself as the bride of Christ, being faithful to that relationship as I would in physical marriage. Jesus, is not only my Brother and Lord, but he is my Husband. As the wife of Christ I submit to the will of Jesus, for He is the head of my household. We do all things together as any couple would do. I lean on Him for all nourishment, wisdom, love, and life; for what comes from Christ also comes from the Father. I used to build up walls between G-d and myself, but when I let go of being “single” and put on the wedding band of Christ, many of my walls fell down, and the justifications that I used before, now held little weight against loving my Husband. I have leaned greatly on Genesis 2:20-25 and Ephesians 5:22-33 for inspiration.

Thank you again for sharing. Your words very moving and powerful.

In my opinion, to this day, women go gaga over wild locks. Just look at Justin Bieber or Legolas or Aragon. To be honest, I fell for my first boyfriend because of his gorgeous shoulder length shiny hair. What a babe!

I really enjoyed this video! However, a perfect and holy God cannot create evil. God allows it. Evil is a result of man's freewill to obey God or not. I am praying that your service to God is unhindered. Karla

I love being a part of what God's doing, and this night was another good one. Great work on putting this memory to paper! I've been reminded lately about the need for "memorial stones" in my life to remember what God has done, and this is a great example. I love the focus on 'addiction'; we were clearly made to worship, and it's beautiful to see ourselves and our friends being changed from worship of the world, or worship of God's gifts, to true worship of Him.

This is great stuff Jeff. Thanks so much for sharing. I particularly love this point you make about Dewey's new life in Christ: "His addictive personality has been redeemed and redirected." I think the story of God and humanity is one in which God does exactly that. He is in the business of redemption and redirection. Love it. Thanks for writing this!

I love this man. It was really cool to read this post after posting about the same topic on my blog. God is speaking this to the church right now. Learning to live from "being" and not from "doing." Your last paragraph is especially good. We are meant to live from the rest and the peace that we often experience at "camp," not from the distractions we get so lost in. Love it. Thank you for this post.
